This evening, Michael had a reaction to a cashew nut (he has been tested for nuts before but it was negative ). They gave him Zirtek and then an emergency dash to the doctor, who gave him steriods and he is to have more tomorrow. The throat and tongue went down but he has been wheezy, a body rash has come up and his hands are a bit swollen, well that was the state of play about 1½ hours ago. The doctor said if it got worse, to go to A&E but I can only assume that they are happy enough with how he is as I haven't had an update. He does have other allergies, fish and eggs, but doc suggested he be tested again for nuts.
As a follow on - how come children are allergic to so much these days? I know this is a real old lady question, but I never remember allergies featuring so much when I was a child - I had hayfever as did one of my friends, but that was about the height of it.
I'll let you know if I hear anything more.
