Agree with what Jo said. The PCSO had no right making that comment. Anyway, well done, you, Kaz, for doing what you did.

So what if the man was drunk - I honestly wouldn't give a fig as my natural reaction would be to just get the poor man some help. :(

I think the UK has gone mad I do.

Only last week in town a lady in her 40's tripped and fell - myself and every other person in the vicinity rushed over to help, made sure she could get up and walk off ok.

It's what you do though, isn't it?

It is Ally, and it does seem as though it has gone a bit mad here - something in the air not quite right :? :(

Frank the man with him was doing the recovery position, pretty much correctly as far as I could see. He couldn't phone whilst doing that, so I did. As you say any collapse is a serious one, so what if he'd been drinking?

There is a big problem here in Gloucester however, with social deprivation, drugs, general chavy-type behaviour (it's a bit out of the old comfort zone for a Surrey raised girl like me, even if I did grow up in a council house! ) and you see a lot of 'stuff' loud behaviour, drinking, etc' happening around - maybe the people who deal with it day in day out either get hard as nails or quit? I don't think I could cope with it  :? No excuse though really for how she was :? :(

Sadly Kaz, it's as common in 'posh' Surrey as it is anywhere else.

Well done you for doing what you did and a shame on that PCSO - karma to her!

I don't suppose your city is any different from any other, Kaz.

Nowadays there are caring and uncaring people everywhere, but there does seem to be more uncaring ones
than there used to be, particularly, I think, among the younger generations. I have noticed that there are
often messages in our local newspaper thanking an unknown person who has done some kind deed of the sort
that, in my younger days, would have been done automatically by almost anyone. I don't know how this change
has come about but it is rather sad.

The same applies to honesty, I think. Some time ago I bought something in a newsagents and when I left the
shop I noticed that I had been given too much change, so I went back in to return the excess. I shall never forget
the look of incredibility on the faces of the customers queuing up to be served.

We are becoming a very sad society.

Here endeth my morning ramble.

((((Saundra))))) That is awful, I hate to think of you feeling that way :? xxxx

Thing is, with hindsight, just what would I have reported her for? I left while she was still dealing with it, for all I know the ambulance still attended and I doubt they discipline police officers for eye-rolling and being grumpy ;) :?

It did get to me yesterday, but I would still stop and do the same thing again 8-)

Well done Kaz, at the end of the day he is still someone's brother, dad, uncle. I am sure as a police officer you do become extremely cynical though

I think so too. My BIL (The DCI) is a lovely chap but his SOH is pretty black, as is his take on human nature ;)
