And dinner tonight

Postby tonicha » 20 Nov 2013, 17:56

is yesterdays pork stew, and I'm adding a few carrots and a leek (had to use it before it went orf) as well as cabbage, ditto. But I'm steaming them and will add them to the side of the dish.

We were supposed to have spag bol - but some-one    had a couple of beers  and I am not used to drinking any more

But at least we can have some scrummy bread and garlic butter

Wednesday is a funny night in our house with it being John's cycling night. The boys had Aberdeen Angus burgers and fries and I had Weetabix. John had a pizza, he'd normally have had that when he got back at 10 but he's stayed in tonight.

Jo Weetabix is not dinner  ;) :D

We had a yummy scrummy veggie sort-of spicy shepherds pie :)
Onion, carrot, red pepper, mushrooms, red lentils, big handful from bag of frozen veg mix, little bit of curry powder and hot paprika, tinned beans, water. Topped with potato & celeriac mash, and eaten with the last of the cheese & onion bread :D

It really was Ton, I make a few different variations of veggie ones but this was the first with curry powder flavour. It wasn't strong, you wouldn't have thought 'oh blimey that's a curried shepherds pie' ;)
Some are almost indistinguishable from meaty shepherds pie, others are definitely veggie pie, with big chunky bits in and a cheesy mash topping. But all of them are amongst our favourite dinners ;) :D
