:( that sounds like some really tough days ahead Di - I'll be honest and say I don't envy either you or Buster.

Is there any way you could rig up a flat screen TV so it can lie on the floor so at least he can try and have that to take his mind off things

Sending loads of vibes and a huge (((hug)))

As a matter of interest Di (and apologies if you've already mentioned and I've missed it), but do they know what caused the tears in the first place?

edited to add: Just seen your FB status about the how and why.... quite scary that it can just happen for no reason

Hope he's doing okay today Di, you too. The drops and timings sound rather complicated. I'm thinking of you both xx

Thanks, you are kind, all of you xx

Apparently the vitreous humour, the gel behind the eye, does gradually detach as you age, and it tends to happen earlier with short-sightedness. Bb is blind as a bat without his glasses, so presumably more suscepitble. But yes, it just 'happens', no warning, nothing :?

We think he'll be able to watch TV from the other sofa if I move it, then he'll be directly in front of the screen when he's lying on his side iyswim. At the moment he's on the sofa with his head in the right place but he's playing on the Galaxy; he's read a bit on the kindle too, thank goodness for technology!
I don't envy us either tbh, but you know, you just deal with whatever's thrown your way :)
There's definitely an element of shock with me too, although you wouldn't know. I popped out to Tesco and came home with a slightly peculiar selection

I had a vitreous gel detachment a couple of years ago, but no damage thank goodness. Yes, it's an age thing, I was told it could happen the other eye too :( and there is no warning as you say.

It's definitely a faff, I've never been or wanted to be a nurse, and ditto him as a patient - so as always we make a good team ;)
