Good morning Wednesday

Postby debih » 14 Aug 2013, 05:25

Morning all.

Its a gorgeous morning and I have already been out with Millie, up and over the fields. She is now just finishing off her 6th meal of the day - so that's one whole tin gone which should keep her going until Mick gets home around 2pm.

Off out in a few minutes to pick up mum and dad and get off to the hospital - the ward had better be open and ready for him at 8pm. When he has been to a different hospital for his cornea transplants he was told to be there for 8am - the ward didn't open until 8.30am, then they had a queue of people to check in and they never actually took him down until after lunch!!!!!

Morning :)
Sunshine and clouds here today.

True to form the sewing had its mishaps yesterday :x First I'd managed to cut out one piece of interfacing wrong; sorted that and was pleased at managing to do the neckline quite nicely.
Then the next instruction - 'fold the bias strips in half lengthwise...' What bias strips??

I checked the cutting layouts and the instructions. There were indeed some strips shown on some of the layouts, but they had not been mentioned for the top. Nowhere does it tell me how wide or how long the strips should be (they're to go round the armholes)...thankfully for once there is spare material. I cut some strips, but I think they're too narrow.
Gave up for yesterday and will look at it again this afternoon.
No wonder people like me find it so hard. This pattern is labelled 'Super Easy'. Yeah...for starters it's a Burda pattern and apparently all their patterns are drawn without seam allowances. Now what's the point of that?? You buy a pattern and then you have to draw on all your own cutting lines, and it's really hard to see where they should be...

Anyway. Thanks for your good wishes, the appointment's at 11 so I should be back around lunchtime.
Good luck to Debih's dad, hope they're ready for him
Hope everyone has a good day
Di

Morning everyone :) Didn't sleep too well, I think the stress from the weekend caught up with me a bit, as I felt very tense and restless.......got back to sleep eventually though....Just washing and ironing for our holiday today though, nothing too busy 8-)

Debih I do hope everything goes smoothy and successfully for your dad, after everything he's already been though {{{{{{{{{x}}}}}}}}}

Thinking of you today Di, especially at 11am {{{{{{{{x}}}}}}}} That pattern sounds really tricky, for 'Super Easy' :? Am sure you'll master it though xxxxx

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning chums :D is it my imagination or is there a hint of autumn in the air?
We went to our tango class last night. I didn't intend to dance, just to watch, but in the end I gave in  my partners had to hold me by the wrist, but it was fine :D
Good luck to your dad debih, hope it all goes smoothly.
Special hugs for Di ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))
