Morning
Sunshine and clouds here today.
True to form the sewing had its mishaps yesterday
First I'd managed to cut out one piece of interfacing wrong; sorted that and was pleased at managing to do the neckline quite nicely.
Then the next instruction - 'fold the bias strips in half lengthwise...' What bias strips??
I checked the cutting layouts and the instructions. There were indeed some strips shown on some of the layouts, but they had not been mentioned for the top. Nowhere does it tell me how wide or how long the strips should be (they're to go round the armholes)...thankfully for once there is spare material. I cut some strips, but I think they're too narrow.
Gave up for yesterday and will look at it again this afternoon.
No wonder people like me find it so hard. This pattern is labelled 'Super Easy'. Yeah...for starters it's a Burda pattern and apparently all their patterns are drawn without seam allowances. Now what's the point of that?? You buy a pattern and then you have to draw on all your own cutting lines, and it's really hard to see where they should be...
Anyway. Thanks for your good wishes, the appointment's at 11 so I should be back around lunchtime.
Good luck to Debih's dad, hope they're ready for him
Hope everyone has a good day
