On the train to work this morning the girl sitting next to me was sniffing quite badly; so I offered her a tissue - to which she replied: "Oh, no thank you, I'm good thank you". I obviously figured she'd dig out a tissue from her bag and blow her nose - but how wrong was I?

Yup, she had an American accent. Dare I admit that I use that phrase as well at time - probably comes from working in an american company and largely with Americans for too many years
