Poor thing, I hope she manages the other one next week, she was obviously really looking forward to it.
I'd never wanted them till I was about 25 I think, but had the same problems as Kaz. It was a chemist and he was lovely, realised it was the gold that made them react (at the same time my fingers itched and swelled where I wore my wedding and engagement rings).
So I went each day and he looked after them, then re-pierced with (?can't remember, whatever's non-allergenic), and they were kind of ok, but I never knew what earrings could be worn, most would make them swell and be really painful. In the end I gave up, there are still sort of lumps in each ex-hole.
