And as if by magic, Mr Johnson says we should "have a conversation" about mandatory (compulsory) jabs.

There is something currently on our local Points West BBC News - I haven't heard the details, just noted the headline - that the vaccination effort is being ramped down in this area because the take-up of jabs has not been anywhere as near as anticipated.
So yes, compulsory jabs could well be the next Governmental step.

Yes, I just saw that too, Ossie, but then they showed a report from here in Gloucester, Rosebank Surgery which was our surgery when we first came to Gloucester, where their vax programme has been so busy that they've ramped it up to seven days a week :?

As I understand things only vulnerable 5 to11-yr-olds will be offered the jab immediately and a decision for a full rollout will not be taken till well into the New Year, They are not compulsory. That seems sensible to me.

Johnson's remarks from before plan B are now being taken out of context. He was not speaking about the children, but all of us, and then in a somewhat roundabout way.

Johnson said he did not want Britain to be a "society and a culture where we force people to get vaccinated", adding: "I don't think that's ever been the way we do things in this country."

He also said that if vaccines are shown to be capable of "holding" Omicron then "there is going to come a point" when "we are going to have to have a conversation about ways in which we deal with this pandemic.

"I don't believe we can keep going indefinitely with non-pharmaceutical interventions, restrictions on people's way of life, just because a substantial proportion of the population still, sadly, has not got vaccinated."

His actual words are a world away from what is being claimed is going on and he was correct on all counts. It is time to stop paying attention to, and giving credence to, everything the media says.

The government has told too many lies during the course of the pandemic to be easily believed. Two weeks to flatten the curve; we will not introduce vaccine passports; parents will have the final say on their children's vaccination, etc etc.

Anyhow the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) found that a million doses among 5-11 year olds would only prevent two healthy children from requiring intensive care. Source Daily Telegraph. However about 330,000 children with underlying health conditions will be offered a shot. 330,000 seems an awfully high number to me.

You have a link to the DT claim and its evidence? No, nor does the the JCVI or anyone else.

This is media spin without evidence. We (the media) say it so, so it must be true. And the hard of thinking fall for it every time.

I'll apologise profusely if I am wrong, but I don't think that I will have to.
