Unlikely. Whilst success is it's own kind of reference; she stood against a lot of policies in order to win her seats. As the leader of the Scots section of the Tories she did well. However if they didn't like Haig for his accent, what would they make of Davidson?

Ruth Davidson made it pretty clear early on Friday she wasn't interested in the Tory leadership position.

Her view was that she still had a lot of SNP butt to kick in the Scottish Parliament and was more than happy to carry on with that ....
