Totally bizarre!

I booked us a room at a little boutique hotel in Nerja we've stayed at before for the 21st March with booking.com two weeks ago. :D

Had an email on Saturday informing me I'd cancelled the room?! No, I haven't, I responded.

Had an email yesterday informing me I'd booked two rooms for the 21st March! No, I haven't, I responded.
Please amend booking.

Had an email last night informing me they'd cancelled the 'extra' room. Thank you, I responded.

Had an email this morning informing me I'd cancelled the original room! No, I haven't, I responded.

I looked up the details of the hotel, emailed them and had a really funny reply from Jose:

"Perhaps booking.com have gone a little crazy".

I've now arranged with Jose to just turn up there and pay on the day.

I've sent booking.com an email telling them to do one! I await their response.

I'll be interested in what they have to say - and in the meantime; keep an eye on the card you used to make the booking; just in case someone's hacked into the booking system

Good luck x

What Ria said again on the double! We booked our room in Portugal through Travel Republic having been directed there by Trivago - I was way because of something I think WM posted ...was it about hotels.com?...a while back. It was almost 24 hour before we confirmation so I was getting a bit twitchy, but it did arrive along with printable vouchers and all appears ok.

Up until I went to bed last night all seemed ok although I'll keep an eye on things.

I've had an email from booking.com apologising for "any confusion and inconvenience."

It's a shame as we've been using them for years.

Heads will roll if any money comes out of my account that I haven't spent!

That's the thing isn't it Ally, you get used to a company and want to carry on with them.
Tbf there are so many thousands of bookings etc flying around every minute, most of the time it's a miracle it usually goes right :D

I still figure stick with companies you've used, or lots of people use and recommend, and if by chance anything goes wrong trust them to put it right.
Plus of course always check you're being charged only what you expected, but that goes for all online buying x

That's right Di...and I'll probably use them for booking our hotel in Glasgow.

I'm sure it's just a blip.
