What's for dinner tonight then?

Postby Ally » 18 Nov 2015, 16:21

We're having Jamie's Asian style salmon with noodles and a chilli dressing. :D :D :D

Except it's not Jamie's.

It's mine! All mine!

A nice comforting beef stew that has been cooking away nicely in the slow cooker all day :D

I don't want to eat a big meal before my zumba class, which is at 7pm, so I'm having a banana sandwich on seeded bread, and will see what I fancy when I get back :) Mick and B are helping themselves from the freezer while I'm out ;)

Ria, I really cannot eat a proper lunch -. haven't done for years. Tried it a few times, but felt so uncomfy for a couple of days.

We're having pasties ( one each) , chips, peas and onion gravy

I went out for a Thai with my mum and my sister (first anniversary of dads death today) and we had a lovely meal and then walked over to the cafe on the park for coffee and cake.

So no dinner for me. The girls are going to have chicken goujons, smilie faces (their choice) and sweetcorn and Mick is having a roast beef dinner - I had frozen some cooked sliced beef in gravy so got that out and just need to do some veg to go with his (although I'm hoping he decides that he fancies chips and peas with it as that'll be much easier).

Not quite sure what I'm doing with it, but we have some turkey strips with a Korean bbq sauce (chilli, ginger, etc but also golden syrup so sweet but hottish I guess).
A bargain the other week in M&S; the strips are raw, dusted in flour so intended to go crispy.
The sauce is a separate sachet, so can be used or not.

Two ideas so far, any more gratefully received :)
1. Ignore sauce; cook turkey on lower heat so flour will act as thickening for sort-of Stroganoff (add onion, mushrooms, creme fraiche), serve with rice & broccoli.
2. Use turkey as intended, stir-fry with broccoli, mushrooms & pepper; adjust sauce to be less sweet by adding soy, more ginger, etc. Serve with either noodles or rice.
