Smoked out!!!

Postby tonicha » 02 Feb 2013, 18:36

I think I had the hot plates on a tad high  and as I'd also put the prawns in a chilli, garlic, ginger and sesame oil marinade, that didn't help.

We now have the front and back doors open, as well as the garage door, to let al lthe smoke out

Was very scrummy though :D

I also did a salad with onions, tomatoes and roasted peppers, couscous and boiled egg chopped up with chick peas (as Grumpy requested) pork steaks, spicy sausage, Portuguese black puddin', jalapeno chillis and a couple of cooling dips.

Now stuffed..................

That sound delicious Ton.

Especially the salad. My lot are really boring when it comes to salad - lettuce, tomato, cucumber and onion and that's about it.

I love a nice salad with lots of ingredients.

I just chuck all sorts in now - I used to be the same old same old, but now - anything gets thrown in.

And even cold rice in the summer, with onions and garlic, lightly sauted, with peas, chillis and anything else I can think of

We're on ythe look out for some different chilli plants - have to see what the market in Castro Verde has on offer on Wednesday :D

Whoops, forgot to say that I normally only use olive oil and white wine vinegar as a dressing now- very pleasant on a hot summers day 8-)

Oh - I dream of nicely dressed salads. But that's a step too far for my clan.

I have to drizzle the dressing on my own salad - I'm not allowed to actually add it to the main dish.

It does Saundra, it really does.

Most of the stuff we buy is locally grown and mostly organic too, no extras in our food
