Another one who doesn't like pizza - never seen the point of it really ;)

We had parboiled (well, steamed) spuds, wrapped in foil, with whole garlic and onion, with a shed load of butter, on the bbq as well as costeletas, some sort of nasty sausage (but grumpy liked it) a couple of pork loin steaks and a couple of entremeadas,

All on the bbq.

Gert lush :D :D

Que?

It is the complete meal. Carbs in the bread base. Veg in the sauce and topping. Protein, also in the topping. Fats in the cheese.

It's about as good as an all-round meal gets.

Just don't have them every day. ;)

I've only eaten pizza twice in my life - once, many years ago, in Pizza something something in London, when they first got popular. I did like the scrummy cheesy crust tho.

But these things you buy in the supermarket? or make yourself? No, sorry, they make my jaw and gums ache. It's just chewing on a tough and stale bit of dough, with a nice ish (if you're lucky) top 8-)

I remember asking one young lad - who came for an interview as a linen porter, he'd been working as a pizza" chef" - so I asked him what other toppings could he suggest - why is it always tomato? and cheese?

I should also say - and for this I will no doubt be shot at dawn - Grumpy only has 7 teef, so we can't have 'em anyway

Rerbish.

I make the base. I make the sauce. They are thin and crispy... there is no chewy dough. They are not supermarket glop.

I do three teeth, five teeth and seven teeth versions, as my family come that way. If I am given enough warning I even do a soft dough no teeth version for granddad Brian. ;) :D :D

He can't do thin and crispy WM - and if he says no - then it's no. he won't even try a super soft steak    because "it might be tuff"

As in not coming over next year - but I have a year to work on that one ;)

Pizzas have many variations...the kind most people are familiar with are truly awful ;)
The type Wm and I make are less bready/doughy than a sandwich, and about a tenth of the cheese of bought ones too - no comparison :)

Anyroads, we do often have pizza on Saturdays, but since we went out to Prezzo last night we were going to have steak.
But I didn't feel like it, so we had big indecision time.
Eventually we spotted an 'Indian meal for 2' in Tesco, reduce to four squid, so that decided it ;)
But, one indication of why people eat more/weigh more than they should - half the pack was 1367 calories, which is really quite extreme :?

Happily, without seeing that info, Bb had already said he reckoned we probably only needed half the pack - and he's a greedy person!
4 onion bhajils - huge great things - one each, 2 in the freezer.
Chicken tikka masalla. Plenty, but literally lumps of chicken in sauce. So the only real work I did was to stir-fry some quickly chopped red onion, red & green pepper and tomato, then stir it in before serving.
Pilau rice - very nice, we ate just over half of that and didn't risk freezing it, it's only a bit of rice after all ;)
2 full-sized naan breads - one for the freezer.
And chicken korma - not what either of us would choose, but in the freezer and can no doubt be doctored as above :)

Bb, as said, is a greedy wotsit but no way could he have eaten half of that whole pack

Correct.

My 12" pizza comes in at about 500 calories. I know exactly what goes in it and there are no artificial anything's. They cost about 50p for a basic Marguerita. When other toppings are added they can go up to £1.50.
