Mrs O is breathing fire and wrath .... :?

I think I'm in for a 14-day cabbage soup diet starting Monday ..... well, it does seem to work for me, and I guess I need to lose 10 lbs or so ...... still, easier to do it in the summer!

The good news was that all the recent diabetic and blood pressure tests were within the parameters, so that's something, I guess. Just the wretched BMI ...

I do think the BMI figures are a bit out of kilter though. Yes I know I'm overweight but I don't consider myself obese - yet my BMI puts me fairly close (if not into) that category.

It's heavy bones!

Calling a name that's lighter than air
Who's bending down to give me a rainbow
Everyone knows it's Windy......

  Frnk you are sooooo bad :D

BMI is a nightmare, it never takes frame or bone structure into account :( My BMI was almost bang on 30 when I started WW last year - I know I was pretty chunky, but obese? :? Almost two stone down, I am still in the overweight category at just under 27 but I'm really not that big, fitting a 12/14 in clothes at 5ft 7 and 56 years old isn 't so awful surely?

My mate from the meetings, Violet, is the same height as me but with a much smaller frame - she started WW around the same time as me, but weighed less then than I do now! Now she's almost down into the 9st something range, but still wants to lose a bit. BMI is too general.....

Apparently for health the best thing you can do is measure your height with a piece of string, then fold that into two and measure your waist. As long as it goes round you are unlikely to suffer health related problems - ie at a height of 67" like me, as long as my waist is less than 33.5" I am ok. Mine is less  I'm still keeping going though ;)

Overall healthy is all you can aim for surely, and a bit of balance.
Being overweight is fine so long as you're fairly fit, but not if you're breathless going up some stairs or have enough extra weight to affect your joints and bones.
If blood tests are good then why worry :)
