Thank you so much everyone for your good vibrations. I am about to go to the clinic, but will post an update when I get back.

Frank, I am so sorry - I wasn't near a computer over the weekend and only just seen this. Good luck with the clinic and of course sending as many vibes as you need for as long as you need them

Thanks Ria, Kaz.

The blood test again pointed to a possible clot, but the scans said not. I was sent back to the CDU ward where another doctor went through yet more tests before going to find a senior for a second opinion. When she came the consultant did much the same as before then stood back and looking at my leg said "that to me says infection".

So today's result is that they will not give up on a possible clot, but will also treat for infection. I had another jab of the T drug and a jab of anti-biotics. I have to finish a course of Flucloxacillin (4x500mg twice a day) and go back on Wednesday for a new set of scans.

I have to say that the infection route sounds a lot more positive. I do not know whether it is psychological, but I the leg feels less sore already.

Indeed, let's hope the antibios reduce the swelling / inflammation ....

Frank I take those antibiotics for cellulitis in my leg when it flares up
My leg swells goes bright red and hurts when I have it
Calf and shin mostly
Let's hope it gets better soon
You are supposed to sit with your leg on a stool
But not very practicable when you live on your own
Take care
