Good afternoon.
It is cold. Blue sky and frosty this morning but there are now grey clouds and the frost has disappeared. Some food shopping this morning. Now pottering and some packing.
Have written and posted our Christmas cards apart from those we will hand deliver locally.
Daughter and SIL are coming this afternoon

Got the keys to the rented apartment today and it's going to be fine :D Bright, modern and well equipped, we will perfectly happy there for six weeks. We'll move a lot of stuff in tomorrow and move in fully on Monday. It will be weird to have to drive to Howth but we can see it in the distance from the window 8-)

Oh that's good news Osc :D :D :D

Saundra I feel the same about buffets  :?

It was f-f-freezing out there today  After visiting D we trailed all over the retail park at St Oswald's (near the city) looking for decorative glass beads for the poppy vase, and some spring bulbs (I'm a bit late planting this year  ) with no luck whatsover!! Came home, put my feet up in the warm with a nice cuppa, logged into Amazon and five minutes later had ordered everything I needed :?  I should have thought of that in the first place................  :?

Lol Kaz yes it's all very well shops complaining about us online shopping but honestly living here we have very little choice - and if even you have to resort to it, where you have a good choice of shops, no wonder :)
We do use local shops as much as we possibly can though ;)

Saundra if you hate doing buffets, why do it?!
Why not a big pot of casserole, jacket potatoes and a dish of carrots and peas?
Or a nice gammon joint, jacket or boiled potatoes, and a bowl each of salad and coleslaw? xx

Glad you're pleased with it Osc, fingers crossed all will now go to (revised) plan xx

Boxing Day, years ago, in Sodbury, was a buffet.

We had Grumpy and me, his parents, his three boys, Julia, then the boys girl-friends and then other friends would turn up too

I used to put a trestle table out, with decs on it and I'd do a chilli or soemthing like that, rice and nibbles.

A lovely afternoon, with booze and without booze.

it is still remembered, after almost 30 years  that Barty - not being used to old-fashioned pull-chains in the loo - managed to yank the whole lot off the wall.

On Boxing Day

He was found -    doing that - on the landing floor

I do a buffet because after there respected Xmas dinner no body wants to eat boxing day
Well that's the plan
But although I do a piece of Gannon oven chips sausages rolls pickles cheese and pulled pork crisp and sausages And desserts and everyone enjoys it
I find its a hassle I'm a roast dinner and dessert kind of person really

Lol yes it's amazing isn't it, how many people say they won't eat for a week after Christmas dinner - and then eat enough for a week the next day
I hate feeling too stuffed so just eat enough for half a week ;) :) :P
