Xmas present sorted (and a bonus for me too)

Postby debih » 03 Dec 2014, 11:34

Look at me - I'm at work supposed to be working but all I'm doing is reading the boards to distract myself!!!

I have sorted Micks xmas present - and the bonus is I get to go too!!! I didn't know what to get him so was looking at some sort of butchery/game cookery course at our local "school of food". But when I went to their website I found that they had shut down. But a google search found another one in Bakewell and whilst I wasn't that impressed with their sausage making course I spotted that they did a supper club 4 times a year.

So I've booked it - not just for Mick but for me too (well, he can't go on his own can he). And then I thought it would be a perfect present for his "business partner" (I say that loosely as they aren't partners but both self employed doing the majority of their work together, much of which Jim sources. So I've also booked it for him and his partner. We have to wait until the end of March though.

It sounds fab. And, I think, really good value. £50 per person for 9 courses (if you count coffee and canapes) and it includes 6 different wines to accompany 6 courses.

That sounds like a great gift for all concerned, and yes seems really good value too :D

I am sooo uninspired this year, everything I've bought so far is really predictable  :o

That sounds brilliant! :D

John's asked for some fancy watch (he hasn't worn a watch since the strap broke on the Swatch I bought him for his 18th birthday, it broke when he was 19  ) and he keeps asking what I want but I honestly can't think of anything, well I can but everything I think of is far more than I'd want him to spend.

Our Christmas is going to be really low key this time. Chris isn't coming as he has some sports thing he wants to go to on Boxing Day, Harry isn't coming until the 27th, I asked my sis and her family for Christmas Day but they can't come until a few days later...............So it will be me, Mick, Becks and the dogs  I just can't seem to summon up any enthusiasm this year

What a smashing idea Debih. I wish there was something similar here as Mr PP is impossible to buy for, with the result that I don't buy him anything.
