Frank, if you haven't yet - I'd ask them for a written witness statement sooner rather than later, whilst it's all fresh in their mind. Not sure how you go about that though and what the costs involved would be to make sure it's all legally binding but it would be worth it I'd have thought.

Concur there Frank, signed statements asap and I think a solicitor too and hope you have a usual or friendly one. Also lots of healing vibes for your injuries.

The insurance solicitors are already on the case and it was them who asked me to get the names and addresses of witnesses so they could contact them. I have done that. I am afraid that if I now go pestering them for signed statements it will look as though it is me trying to make a case for innocence because I was in the wrong.

Thanks for the 'Get Well' vibes, I am sure they will do the trick.

don't do anything Frank, the insurance company will sort it.

I was witness to a road traffic accident a few years ago. The stupid woman in the next lane to me failed to stop at a red light and went sailing into the side of the car coming through the lights the other way. I pulled in immediately and gave the woman driver a hug as she was so shaky. I gave her my name and address and I filled in all the witness forms.

I then got a call from an insurance assessor to say the guilty party was denying all knowledge and saying it was obvious me and the other driver knew each other as I immediately hugged her, so basically we had set it up.

What a wally. I gave my report, drew all my pictures and she was found guilty of driving with undue care and attention.

If you start chasing them, as you say you will look like you are trying to coerce them
