Many years ago, probably around 1995, Master O (then aged around 8 or 9) and I travelled on a special charter train excursion from Yeovil to Bridgnorth, via Swindon and Bristol, organised by Pathfinder Tours. It was a historic event in railway preservation circles, because it was the first time one of those HSTs (High Speed Trains) had ever traversed the Severn Valley Railway line from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth. However, the main feature of the day was that it rained .... and rained .... and rained .... and rained .... in fact, it was so bad that the River Severn was in spate and flooding (Kaz will know all about that!) and on the return journey, we were stuck in Swindon for two hours or so because parts of the track south to Melksham were covered in water. But I digress ...

On arrival in Bridgnorth, what can you do when it's pouring? Not a lot! So we squelched into the town and found a Farm Supply shop. And there I bought me something very similar to one of these:

... with chin straps ....

I offered to buy Master O a similar one, smaller size. He refused my kind offer, and disowned me for the rest of the trip.

Mrs O has subsequently inadvertently "hidden" it on many occasions, but so far I have always managed to find it.

These days, if I want to wind up either Mrs O or Master O, I happily wear it around the house.

I can't see what's wrong with it, personally ..... may I recommed one for Mr Lozzles?
