That's an OW Frank. The bike will be repaired but you''ll be remembering it every time you put your foot on the ground for a while.

I must admit I've noticed quite a lot of bikers switching their headlights to full beam when in that kind of traffic. Most drivers can't miss that as the searchlight in their face off the side mirror is kind of hard to ignore. I do the same when filtering on the dual carriageways/motorways when it's raining.

You've had your 1:366 chance of being in an accident, hopefully you won't ever see one again, but the odds are not fantastic are they? I'm assuming you are like me, ridden bikes most of your life and had virtually no accidents over that time. Until the guy in front did an emergency stop at an amber light on me, a decade ago and broke my left hand, after my front brake failed. Which is still uncomfortable today.

I wouldn't have claimed for more than the bike either.... Insurance companies are not there for holiday bonuses, they are there to indemnify us from the consequences of accidents...

Perhaps you need one of these but the prices are shocking...... :D :D

   I can see me spending more time on my @rse than scooting about.

I have been riding, on and off, since the days of Bantams and Tiger Cubs and have only had one accident.

It was another 'emergency' stop that caused it, We were all slowing down as we approached a Pelican crossing and were hemmed in by railings. There was a side road to the left and at the last moment the driver in front though it would be a great idea to leave it open ,so she slammed all on. I had nowhere to go and no time to stop so I hit her and went right over the top of her Fiesta. Thankfully nothing broken, but I still bear the scars. :D
