Jen, they really are supposed to these days However, the fairer hair colours are not as risky as the reds or brunettes I am told, and I know you are fair

It is rare, to react so badly, but the trouble is if you do react it can be pretty serious. I'm sure you will all continue to be ok, if you have been until now

Funny how times change. I worked in a couple of hair salons in the 80s and neither did patch tests before doing colours. It's not something we were instructed to do in the college training salon either.

Well, I have got my 'Natures Grey Busters' here and even that asks to do 48 hr patch test, plus a strand test. I shall follow the instructions and then colour my hair on Friday. I shall report back

Well, I have done it and I'm quite pleased with the result. It was a little bit more messy to use at it is very dark straight from the bottle, where as my usual is lighter and more creamy. I wrapped my head in the plastic hood provided. I left it for 40 minutes because my grey is pretty stubborn
All dry and styled now and it has turned out better than I hoped. The coverage is pretty good and my 'coloured' hair is nice and glossy. Just need to see how long it lasts. It should be about 8 washes. I might try using a dry shampoo from time to time to see if I can make it last a bit longer. I also have some left in the bottle, so unlike my usual colour which needs to be thrown away, I can save this for touch ups if needed.

Oh that sounds good, and the dry shampoo is a good idea - they make some good ones these days, I have an Aussie one
