Its January or nothing and like you if we stay at home I will be still sorting the animals out every morning, doing the washing, the ironing, the food shopping. It won't be a holiday.

I'm sure we could find places to go around Mevagissey but I don't want to. I don't want to spend hours in the car, I want to relax and slob and walk locally.

We can explore somewhere new at some other time.

You could make a point of going out for meals
Takeaways go to the pictures
Garden centers or stay in bed and watch tv all week

Just book somewhere where you like . if he can't make his mind up

But in saying that, you both have to happy, so ask him where - and then make an "executive" decision - where you want to go ;)

My friend just said to me that all the shops and restaurants that have been open over the Christmas and New Year period use that week to close and go away themselves. It'll certainly be quiet

It could well be pretty bleak Mm, and even quieter than you'd want tbh.
My birthday's January and even finding a restaurant is something we've abandoned, if they're open they're awful!

But Tim must make some effort as to where.
Can't he come up with 3 suggestions, and you the same, then each take away one of the other's, then explore what's left?
Or doesn't he really want to go away at all?

Abroad would cost probably less but for the passports, but how about Scotland? Flights to Edinburgh or Glasgow?
