I'll soon be legal

Postby Diflower » 13 Oct 2014, 17:02

Confession - when we moved here the one thing I couldn't find was my driving licence, to get the address changed. It was the old type so I'd need the new sort, with photo.
Then when I found it - in a handbag of course - I'd already lost my hair, so wasn't about to get the photos done, and once it grew back properly, I sort of forgot about it...  :!: :|

I've remembered every now and then, but got worried about a fine, got the form from the post office, quite a while ago, then forgot to get the photos done...
Anyway. It's all changed, you don't have to pay, and you can do it online - so I've done it today :D
Because I had to renew my passport earlier this year they can also retrieve the photo and signature from that, so don't even need more photos :)

There was no mention of imminent arrest or a £1million fine, so fingers crossed ;)

:D 8-) Glad you've got it sorted :D

Tom lost his passport with all the toing and froing, so we got the forms to apply for a new one months ago - still sitting there unfilled in

Have just sent of mrs e's licence to be renewed. It only lasts three years as she is over 70.
When you get the new one I write in pencil on the paper section the date it expires as there is no date on this section. There is a number after the long refernce number which is the issue number
For those under 70 the driving licence has to be renewed every ten years.

I did look ok Kate, but didn't go out like it as it was far too cold!
Thing is you do have to be recognisable on the photos and neither of my wigs really looked anything like my own hair - but mostly I wouldn't have wanted to keep seeing the reminder in the photo ;)

Anyway the good news is my new licence took less than 48 hours to arrive! :D
