Grr.. Ho hum.. and FFS!

Postby Weka » 17 Jan 2013, 07:33

I got a migraine NYE
Started boot camp on mon 7th, another headache
Went again wed, another migraine
Went to osteo that day
He sent me for X-rays
I have the beginning of spinal degeneration and have lost the natural curve in the neck.
So now I have some lovely foam shape to lie on every morning to try and fix it.

Meanwhile in the background, we have been reviewing our (lack of) insurance and were signing up for medical, trauma and life insurance. And now they won't cover me full stop. my neck and the fact that I'm waiting for a brain scan for my eye problem has got the insurance company all nervous and jittery.

Seriously, what do they think they are going to find? A brain?

FFS

Oh no :o :( What exactly does that mean then, Weka? Will you have to pay full private rate for all of your medical care from now on? :? :( :(

Being used to the NHS I'm not sure how private medical insurance works.................

I think the insurance company is concerned that I may have a brain tumor  as I do have a lot of the symptoms. Headaches (from my neck), stiff neck (well not sure why but its been like that for as long as I can remember, vision problem (ditto with that), fatigue (hello!! I have two toddlers!), irritability (yeah, I'm tired and have a terrible two year old), loss of sense of smell (I'm sure if my nose would unblock that would help, but I really don't want to smell nappies that well, :D )...,, So yeah, have symptoms, but they are all explainable by other things......

Public system here is pretty good, but there are waiting lists for things. I'm on one at the moment to check out something a rather in my head to make sure nothing is pressing on the optic nerve causing my minor but annoying sight issue. I'll probably have to wait 6-12 months though on the public system, or I could just fork out for it myself and get it over and done with, then I would probably get insurance the as they would then see its all a mountain over a molehill.

(She says hopefully and putting on the public brave face)

huge hugs Weka xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(x)xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Insurance companies are a pain in the posterior, they really don't want to pay out anything, but are more than happy to have your money.

Hope everything gets sorted out soonest.

Unless you are lottery winning lucky I dont think medical insurance is on in this era. I gave up mine when that AXA mob took over and they rejected a £100 claim - less than a weeks premium. I dont like your symptoms at all, Weka and think you should get a MRI asap whatever it costs. Meanwhile lots of best vibes for you. x

I do hope they get you sorted out soon, Weka.

Private health insurance is always a pain in the neck when it comes to making a claim.
The problem is, of course, that they have to look out for the many spurious claims they
must get, and we all have to suffer as a conscquence.

I'm sending lots of healing vibes down under for you.
