Well, phew, what a day! Finally sitting down and I expect we will head off to bed very shortly as we are struggling to stay awake.

We were just going to bed a bit after 11pm last night, when Miss Osc told us that her contractions were starting, but she was going to stay at home as long as she could. Off we went to bed, and strangely enough I actually slept until about 1.30am, woke for a while and went back to sleep. Woke again around 3.30am and just could not get back to sleep, so when Miss Osc came into our room at almost 4.30am and said they were off into the hospital, I was lying there playing Solitaire on my phone!! Michael usually gets up at 7am and I had the clock set for 6.50am so that he wouldn't go into his parents' room and find them not there - when the clock went off I was dead to the world :roll:

She was admitted very quickly, we got a text from SIL at 5.15am, and brought to the delivery suite at 8.30, with Kellie arriving just after 10am. She weighs 7lbs 1 oz, I think, and the head of dark hair is a shock as Michael had little hair and what he had was very fair.

SIL rang in the afternoon to say he was on his way home, as Miss Osc had got a bed in a ward and he needed to get home, have something to eat and change his clothes. So it was arranged that he would take Michael back with him, we would follow, take Michael out for his tea and then take him home later to put him to bed. It all went well, Miss Osc looks very well and happy and it was lovely for us, as we were not able to see Michael the day he was born as the hospital had the vomiting bug and I remember being quite upset. Believe it or not, Kellie was delivered by the same midwife who delivered Michael, isn't that lovely! Michael seemed very happy to see his little sister, having earlier proudly showed me two little soft toys that are presents from him.

Shell, yes they knew it was a girl but never told anyone, I don't know how they managed to keep it secret! SIL is home now, hopefully Miss Osc and Kellie will be home tomorrow, depends on availability of doctors to check Kellie and Mum over before letting them go.

Yes I remember you couldn't see Michael, it will be interesting to see how he reacts once his baby sister takes up residence

Oh, and the Rebecca part of her name is due to Michael - quite a few months ago, we were talking to him about different names and a joke was made about calling a possible girl Beccy, I said that you could say to her "do you want your brekkie, Beccy" he thought this was absolutely hilarious, it stuck, and baby has been referred to as Beccy ever since :lol:
