Luke moved into his new home today. I packed all his stuff on Saturday and we moved it in over the weekend. He was there with us and was a little unsettled. I was worried how he would cope today, but he has been a complete star.
Tim took him at 11 this morning, and stayed to do some last minute jobs. Luke went out with his two carer's Peter and Ellie both of whom worked with him at 42. Keith his care manager was there and Rachael a behaviour therapist from the Intensive Support Team who has worked with him a lot over the last few months was also there. She phoned me this afternoon and said "oh my word the difference in your son already" She said he was happy, relaxed, chatting. She said she could tell he loved having a whole bungalow to himself not just a room.
Then Nanna and Gramps went to visit and she rang and said "Luke is so happy, well all three of them were"
I had a text from Pete to say Luke is in bed, chilled and settled, he has had a fantastic day.
Then Rachael who was his key worker at 42 and now his senior arrived to do a waking night with Kev, also from 42 and she text and said "when Kev arrived Luke came out of his room and said "Kev this is my house"
I am so proud of him I could burst and very happily stunned too
I will post some photos of the finished product in the next few days
Thank you all so much for your support and your lovely reassuring comments when the going got tough, it was much appreciated xxxx
