If I have a cold then I tend to have one blocked nostril at a time and I hate it, it feels lop sided somehow

But that's the only time I don't breathe through both nostrils at the same time....I thought everyone did....

Ideally, they do ;) I did ask a doc about an op to have my septum sorted out - his advise was not to :?

   Moonie beat me to it with her post. About 85% of us breathe with one nostril most of the time, then it switches to the other side for a while. It is known as the nasal cycle.

For those of you who use both nostrils most of the time, don't worry, you are still on the "normal" spectrum: just about. ;) :P :P
