Good afternoon all. It's lovely and hazy here, the sun feels quite warm. Had a lovely and very long walk with Billy this morning after a trying start to the day with Tom - I actually made it as far as the gym door first thing and ended up turning straight back around and coming back home because I was so fed up and thought I was going to get in there and end up in tears.

Debbie, that's ridiculous! I need to contact the school (again). Every year the children have been given journals. All info is in there including timetables, home work is noted down and teachers can make comments and so can parents, it's a place to write notes for teachers eg if they're not doing PE. Anyway, this year it's been decided that only Years 7 and 8 will have them. I think the alternative now is that we should email teachers BUT although it's common knowledge that email addresses at the school work like, for example, "j.smith@..." you have to know who you're contacting and the teachers' first names aren't common knowledge. Last week I wanted to contact Tom's history teacher and I had to email the main office to get a contact name for her. H. Cornwall it was. So I emailed h.cornwall@... and the email bounced immediately back to me. I then had to email the office again, they didn't know what the problem was and put a call out for her to contact me. She did and it turned out that although she marred two years ago the tech people haven't bothered to change her email address and it's still using her maiden name, hence why the email bounced

Had a Facebook message off a neighbour this morning, asking if any of us on the close could recommend a good cleaner as her's isn't reliable. Honestly, they're a pampered lot around here - cleaners, ironing services, gardeners, dog walkers, car cleaning services...and the woman who asked works part time!

Have a good day all!

Well that covers my life, what do they do all day??

Thanks, I had a very nice time, have discovered a short cut through some alleyways into town  a nice bite for lunch, and a mooch around the Debenhams sale :D All I got was some Yankee votive candles - Ria to replace the ones that 'leaked' at the weekend  - but it was very very nice.

S and I seem to have a fair bit in common and will definitely be doing it again 8-) Oh and I got to have a nosey in her house (  ) as I knocked for her and she wasn't quite ready, and the layout is different, even though it looks exactly the same from the outside, she has a separate dining room but still a big enough kitchen for a small table :D  Oh and it was super clean and lovely, but then she doesn't have two dogs

:D So glad you have a new friend 8-)

Sorry not been posting much - when I am at work I don't seem to have any spare time  I had a bit of help today in the form of Emma which was much needed as this new 'two for one' offer is a bit of a headache, especially when one elderly gentleman wanted to buy FIVE pairs of glasses! :?

Had a nice bubble bath when I got home, after popping to the library in the next village to collect a book I had ordered and was ready. Bliss.

'Nother busy one tomorrow.....

Hugs for all and special ones for the poorlies xxxx

Well the one who was asking about a cleaner today works part time - I think she spends the rest of the time on a sun bed...or at the hairdressers...or the nail salon ;)

John says I just need to add car cleaning to my repertoire and then I can get an advert in the local paper

Lovely to see that you've got someone nearby to socialise with :)
