I wouldn't normally but I think it is the fact they are older and might be expecting hats and frocks

I'm in my 70s and I don't expect people to wear frocks for everything. I have just been out for lunch to a very upmarket hotel and I wore white crop jeggings, white lacy top and a Mary Berry type jacket with pink flowers all over it.

Mrs.e has several trousers which she wears when we go dancing and cruising. She has this year been to funerals wearing black trousers.

It sounds as if it is a colourful outfit and will not clash with the bride.
