Morning all. Lovely here after a murky start.

I have been shopping this morning - I had to get the refreshments for our AGM tomorrow so thought I do my own too. I looked like a right alkie coming out of the supermarket - 5 bottles of vodka and 8 bottles of gin!!!! And a mountain of sugar. Yep, its damson and sloe time.

Work for me until 12pm and then a quick trip to the vets to get some medicine for Millie (for the last week she has been, lets say, rather loose). I rang the vet this morning as I don't like to starve her - she's skinny enough already - and the nurse recommended I call in for some microbiotic paste and worming tablets which should sort her out pretty quick. Sh'e agreed that I should try to avoid starving the scrawny little thing if possible.

Home to make a chicken and roast potato pie! I saw the recipe on FB yesterday for a left over Sunday lunch pie and cooked roast potatoes especially to put in it!

Out with a friend early evening to start picking sloes. Gin making later.

Good afternoon all.

I've been busy all morning on various jobs - but I'm going to watch a film now.

I recorded 'Dial M For Murder' the other day, so I think I'll watch that. I haven't
seen it for years.

Hope you are all well.

Yes, it is a great film. It's years since I last saw it and I really enjoyed it this afternoon,
I believe it was the last one that Alfred Hitchcock produced.

And mine 8-) I recorded it too, to watch when there is nothing else on ;)

Odd day at work - I was expecting to work with a clinic with Jan - then M (boss, who was the optician on duty today) phoned to tell me he wouldn't be in as he was ill and could I phone round and rebook appointments. So Jan and I were there with no clinic but plenty to do - rebooking and redoing admin takes a while! I owe some pro rata time so I said I'd go in on Thursday PM and I somehow managed to say that I'd work every Thursday for the time being until the staffing situation gets sorted (just discovered one of our lovely girls is leaving  No-one has ever left before and it's hit us rather hard, all of us, bosses included :( ) It means I'm almost full time but I guess the extra money will come in handy - and it isn't permanent, I've made that clear!

Having a nice evening just Tom and I - Steve is back so no more extra farm work for T so it was lovely just to spend time together. And of course J is in Paris 8-)

We've had a lovely meal out for D's birthday - I had steak, salad and a jacket spud, all on my WW list  The Oakwood is out at Twigworth - "Why can I hear a sheep?" asks Becks as we came out to the car afterwards "Duhh, 'cos we're in the countryside Becks "  says I

Lol Kaz, funny that

Gal glad T has finished the extra work :)

We've had a lovely time too, that Thai place (it's attached a to a pub but separate) is terrific.
And it was the friend not the sister, which was nice, for years the 3 of us plus my mum used to go out for Christmas dinners when our husbands were out for theirs.
I was back in the land of Lilliput though :D
