How did I miss this?

Is looks as though, one way or another, your time will be filled, old mate, just don't overstretch yourself. And good luck for 2013 with work and the house.

Thanks,

The wall is almost complete. It's like a banana but that is by design as the mess behind it is all odd shaped and I need to support the beam up there, it's collapsing.

Even better, I found, when I started the work, that the corner beam which supports the whole edge of the roof, is missing about 6" at the bottom where it's rotted. More work.

It's building muscle again though, even if they hurt. I'll have lost a Stone by Friday (8 days), so it's useful exercise too.....

I don't want to sound pedantic, but as you are in France it should be 10cm and 6kg. :D ;)

Pedant....

I was taught cm at school but grew up with feet and inches.

Oft heard conversation at the stores in the Army. "I need a 6mm bolt". "How Long?". "About 2 1/2 inches".......

CM are all well and good but unless you grew up with them they are all but meaningless. As for the KG thingy... My scales read in KG but I always think in stones. It's useful to confuse the hell out of the Americans :D :D

Oh I'm with you there Suff, I just cannot think in "new money" where distance and weight is concerned. It does have its uses though, as when I went for my new patient check-up at our GP surgery last year the nurse weighed me in kg - and I came out in blissful ignorance  :P

I, but wish, I didn't know that 125.2 kg was 19 stone 10 ounces.

However, today, 1 week later, I'm 18 stone 11 ounces. I'll count that as a victory although it's only the stone I've put on in the last 6 months. 2 more weeks to go until I head back to work and have to start really dieting as I won't be doing 8-9 hours of heavy manual work in 2-7C temperatures, I'll be sitting on my rump pushing a keyboard....

Gym will be a must.

Hmmmm, not whilst at home.

Need to get the sliding doors finished on the cupboard this morning and take a ferry tonight (which we have to get to).

Maybe when I get back to work and have more leisure time in the evenings.
