Poor lonely Alyssa-not lonely now--she is home

Postby lissie » 15 Sep 2014, 12:23

My grandaughter`s summer job as a Nanny in Canada is over and she will be home tomorrow
The woman she works for has dropped her off at Toronto Airport at 9am as it is a 100 mile car
journey and she can only do it on her way to work (she will be late anyrate)
Poor Alyssa will be on her own at the airport all day as her flight is`nt till 9pm tonight :o
She arrives at 9am tomorrow at Heathrow where her Dad (my son) will meet her :D
On Wednesday she is at Canterbury Cathedral for her Graduation ceremony (what a lovely setting)
She will go on to Middlesex University at Hendon to take her Masters (and hopefully pass)
She is studying Physcology (sp?)
I will be thinking of her all on her own today and will try and contact her on Messenger :D

lissie

gosh, that will be a long day at the airport if she's just hanging about. But I don't think the airport is that far out of town so hopefully she'll be able to either check in her luggage very early or leave it with a left luggage place and then maybe head into Toronto itself and do an hour or so of sightseeing?

The time has flown by hasn't it Lissie - it feels like yesterday you were posting that she was heading off over there. Did she have a good time?

Yes Meriad, she says she has had a wonderful time as well as looking after the 4 children :D
She has spent weekends at the lakeside cottage they have and has been to Montreal, Ottawa,
Niagara Falls and went to Toronto for a weekend with some German Nannys` she made friends
with.
I think it was a good idea to do what she did as she has seen places she would`nt have seen
otherwise :D

Gosh that has gone quickly, what a great experience this will have been for her! :D

I'm afraid I could entertain myself in an airport all day quite happily - what with the shops and the cafes   ;)

Safe flight home Alyssa! xxxxx

Yes thanks Ria--Her Dad picked her up at Heathrow at 9 ish this morning :D
She has just" Messaged "me to say she is very tired but looking forward to her
Graduation tomorrow and would we like to come. :D
I have had to decline as OH feels it would be too far for him to walk.
You have to park quite a long way away from the Cathedral and then there is
a long walk through the grounds :(
I might go over and see her when it is over to get a photo of her in her Gown
and Mortarboard
