Just back from a run and watching the sun rising was lovely.

Few bits round the house and work 2-5.

Mick has gone for an early dental appointment, a crown to replace the temp one they did before Christmas. His teeth have cost us a fortune this last year

Just heard that HMV are going into administration and are refusing to honour gift tokens and cards This close to Christmas that is dayight robbery - good job Harry spent his last Saturday I feel very sorry for the staff, not only have they lost their jobs but they will have to deal with some very angry customers

Looks gorgeous out there but by 'eck, it's chilly It will warm up soon though

Ironing for me this morning and Grumpy is going up on the roof (right on the very top of the flat bit ) to find out if the asphalt is lifting, as we have a bit of black stuff in one corner - quite normal in these houses. But I won't be watching, just listening out for the slithering as he falls off I hate him going up there, but he's happy enough

Doing a sort of Chinese dinner tonight, Aldi's had a load of bamboo shoorts and chinesey stuff yesterday, even lychees so prawns and pork stir-fry for us tonight.

Hope Loz is feeling a bit better today xx and the we all have aas good a day as possible xxx

Oooh Ton, Mick will climb all over a roof if needs be - he spent several years as a phone engineer climbing those big poles, so has no fear of heights - but I cringe when he does

Good morning all, it's a sunny one here but very cold and icy. I got up to go to the gym but it's treacherous underfoot so I'll wait until later.

Instead I think I'll have a sort through some kitchen cupboards, see if there's anything that can be thrown out. Might have a quick look in Joe's room too, I did have a bit of a sort out in there on Friday but there're still a couple of storage boxes to go through.

It's very sad about HMV, I wonder if maybe the online business will be bought out. It was only last week that Play.com announced that they are withdrawing from online retailing and from March will just act as a marketplace As for the giftcards, I know that there are reasons for this when a company goes into administration but so many people must still have them with it being just a few weeks after Christmas, it seems so unfair when the money is already in the till.
I still miss Woolworths.

Today really does look better, yesterday we mostly had yet more rain, but now it's meant to be dry for a few days, thank goodness.
Bb's not working till after lunch, so we're off out, he likes to have his hair cut at the place where we used to live, really because the guy is a friend so it's nice to have a catch-up. I shall go and catch up with another friend at the same time.

Btw we realised it's 10 years this past weekend since I first moved down here and we started living together

I think it was last January that there were rumours circulating about HMV too, I know I sent Tom over to our nearest HMV to spend a voucher he'd been given for Christmas in case they stopped accepting them

Thanks for thinking of hi saundra - I'm very relieved that H spent his in time Jo you're right, there are business reasons why they stop honouring vouchers, as the voucher holder joins the long list of those owed money by the company, but it's very hard on all of the people who still have vouchers, mostly youngsters I'd imagine
