I think I have seen newspaper articles with photos of such discriminatory notice as Debih mentioned however Cromwell, and such things did really go on! Do you really believe they didn't?

No problem Kaz; I honestly don't care too much if such signs were put up in the 1950's or not.

But the Rotherham scandal we shoud all care about, as I'm sure we all do. Not only for the abuse, but for the PC attitudes that infest public sector senior management that have allowed this abuse to go on for so long.

Ossie's point about the abusers is a good one. Only 5 people have been convicted and another 30 are being investigated; but if 1,400 girls have been abused, there must be a hell of a lot more abusers floating about.

Lastly, it's been pointed out that South Yorkshire Police can raid Cliff Richard's house on one allegation of child abuse dating back to 1985 - but they have ignored the "industrial scale" abuse of young white girls by Pakistani men right on their own doorstep!

Amazing reaction from the police, social services, and council... "Nothing to do with me, I was not kept informed" does that sound familiar? same reaction if you remember from Harriet Harman and her cohorts when Labour was in power.. all in high paying positions following the exposure of that disgusting disgraceful filthy bunch of Paedophiles and perverts called PIE.

HOWEVER I am delighted to learn that the female who was responsible for the care of children in Rotherham has been told to resign from the prestigious job she landed in Australia after she scarpered there following the exposure of her indifference and negligence of these abused youngsters here in u.K !! I hope she is also deported,however we do not want her back here to claim every benefit imaginable.

This is always quoted, but I've never seen any evidence for it.

I have. When we lived in London in the early to mid-70s and were looking for a flat, there were several places with No Irish signs outside, and one woman in Ealing whose flat we really wanted told us that she could see we were nice people but she just couldn't let it to us because we were Irish.

I despair when I see what political correctness has done in the UK - I would mainly blame Tony Blair's government for the way things are now. Also of course, South Yorkshire police have long been seriously unfit for purpose going back as far as the imprisoning of the Birmingham Six on fabricated evidence, and their appalling conduct during and after the Hillsborough tragedy.
