And for dinner tonight

Postby tonicha » 13 Jan 2013, 17:44

I'm not poaching that chicken :?

I looked at the recipe again and even though I can't get half of the ingredients, i was going to put in different stuff, but having read it properly ;) it looks more like a broth than Sunday dinner.

So I'm roasting it with lemons, garlic, thyme and bay leaves, with peppers shallots and potatoes in another dish.

Smells gorgeous :D

 We eat at lunchtime on Harry weekends so he can share the meal - Mick and I had lamb chops, the kids had gammon steaks, and I did roasties, green beans and sprouts with it. Then mini choccy sponge puds after 8-)

Roast turkey :D
This is the breast joint we would have had cold at Christmas, but I bought a turkey instead! So we've just had that, roast potatoes, stuffing, brocolli, carrots and cabbage :D

I did Sunday dinner, like my mam used to make, with a lovely piece of beef, Yorkshires, roasties and mash, carrots, roasted parsnips, broccolli, sprouts and gravy. Sadly it is so long since I made Yorkies I was disappointed they didn't rise more and weren't crispy as I remembered....but it was a lovely meal and we have some beef left for sarnies :D

That sounds nice though Saundra :D 8-) Before we moved I had to run the freezer right down so we lived on chicken nuggets, odds and ends of frozen casseroles, fish fingers and ice lollies for a while
