It's very much a case of one step forward, two steps back
and has been trundling on all week. Finally Miss Osc spoke to the other solicitor this afternoon and he said he was personally bringing the contracts to her office in Howth.........her office isn't in Howth, it's in Blanchardstown
(and she isn't there, plus there would be nobody there from 4pm). Then he said he would bring them to the estate agent's office. She asked him to scan them and send to her on email (so she could check for any sneaky conditions), he said his scanner wasn't working. She then thought she might ask the estate agent to scan them but decided not to, so rang the other solicitor back to ask him directly if he had put in any condition she should know about - and he has
It's to do with the buyers' loan and she says she never allows her clients to sign a contract with that particular condition. Then he went off on a rant saying that he was so stressed, everyone had been on his back about this purchase all week, he had spent all day today running around dealing with it, his clients had jumped through hoops for us (
I'd say it was us who has been doing the hoop jumping) and at that stage (4pm ish) he didn't know if he would make it to the estate agent in time.
Just heard from the estate agent who has the contracts and deposit locked up in his safe for the weekend, so Miss Osc is happy that that is some progress at least, and we will discuss the condition (if indeed he left it in) on Monday. Also we will see what closing date they are proposing. So I am now going to park all this at the back of my mind for the weekend, because it has been one long stressful week.
