Leaving the village we go down quite a long windy country road and it just suddenly darted across in front of me, there was no way I could have avoided it. E said it was obviously dead, on impact I sincerely hope, and because we had mother and there's no footpath we really couldn't stop for very long. Have to say it did shake me up quite a bit, mother on the other hand thank goodness had absolutely no idea what was going on. My stomach still feels a bit unsettled, it was really horrid and I truly hope the deer didn't suffer too much It wasn't a full size deer, but big enough to cause quite a bit of damage. Couldn't really examine the car properly until we got to the golf club, the front bumper's cracked and been pushed a bit out of line and the grill's completely gone. Anyway I got on the phone to the insurance bods as soon as we got home and true to their promise the garage they use rang earlier.
Looks like I'll be driving my battered car down to Kent next week, the garage can't see it for assessment until tomorrow morning. They would have come out to the house, but not until middle of next week. When they've seen it they'll contact the insurance bods and then it will be a bit of a wait while they get the parts in. At least it's driveable as although I will get a courtesy car, not until it goes in for repair.
