As if.
All the Islamic states put together haven't managed to defeat Israel yet, let alone the Western world.

The people who worry me are the people who run our country. Politicians, Quangocrats, "campaigners", think-tankers and the civil service. Because they are in a position to really let us be harmed; essentially I think 90% of them are idiots. They concern me a lot more than a bunch of ranting 12th century fundamentalists.

The American hawkish element had a plan along the lines of this: for every (Islamic) terrorist atrocity they would destroy ten mosques/Islamic holy sites. This was at a time when only a select few had nukes and when the West was supplying nearly all the weapons to Islamic lands. It never came to pass because the doves held sway and were afraid of the consequences.

'A stitch in time' or 'Nipping things in the bud' spring to mind. Nowadays things are a lot different: more fool us.

I agree with Aggers. This is a fearful prospect. However...

I could not agree more...

My horror of the Germans and the thousands of innocent Jews, the innocent children who
Were put to death unmercifully has always haunted me.
But now we see the Israelis supported to the hilt by America is committing a holocaust in Gaza
Innocents little ones "shot" murdered by the Israeli military, regions reduced to rubble
Thousands of deaths, people digging for bodied in rubble strewn areas. No food, no medicines, fear, hospitals full of little children most are dead or dying..dying motherless, and terrified as the bombs reign down.
A five day truce? This murderous war should be stopped. Finkelstein a Jew gave a very emotional
And interesting speech, and there has been a gathering of over a thousand people in Israel demanding that
Israel needs to withdraw from stealing land in Gaza. Stop the merciless killing of innocents
They in my opinion are no better than the Nazis in the last war.

Very few Israeli citizens are being killed, it is by far mostly Palestinians :? :( Did you see the coverage of the bombing of that school? Those poor children - even the hardened new correspondent was beside himself...........................

When they run out?

I am waiting for some meaningful criticism of Hamas or its rocket suppliers in the Western media and from politicians. Since July the 7th it has fired 1,474 rockets into Israeli territory. Some of those rockets have the capability of reaching the major Israeli cities of Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Haifa and Be'ersheva. The only area safe from Gazan rockets is the far north, but that is vulnerable to Hezbollah rockets. Given the size of the country and the speed of the rockets Israeli citizens have only about one minute to find shelter when a rocket is coming their way. Hamas does not give prior notification of intended targets.

Now, let us take a hypothetical situation here in the UK where, say, Welsh Separatists, feeling justified in their cause, were firing off rockets into England. We would all be quite happy for the armed forces to keep out of things and let the barrage carry on: wouldn't we?

This is an extremely emotive one and we almost never get the whole story or the true story in western press. We only get what they want us to think at that moment in time. Occasionally and I do mean very occasionally, we get a balanced view of what is going on.

The BBC I expect to do nothing else than what they are doing. Poor Palestinians, what did they do? OK they mention, offhand, that those never to be sufficiently damned Israeli's did flood the area with leaflets notifying the people, in Arabic, that they were going to run a campaign in the area and why.

Did the people move? Do Hamas use the people as shields? Do Hamas store their rockets in Schools, Hospitals and UN aid sites?

Of course Israel has iron dome. Wonderful system, about as efficient as you can get, it shoots down most of the rockets. But what does "most of the rockets" mean?

Let's talk about what that means. It means that the remainder of the time, men, women and especially children, live in a state of fear. Live waiting for the alarm to go off. Live wondering if they will be unlucky next time. They are schooled in bunkers. Sleep in bunkers when the threat is high, in short they are living WWII London over and over and over, year after year after year. The difference? The UK were bombing the hell out of civilians in Germany and nobody thought it was a bad thing. After all we had to win the war, we couldn't allow such as the Germans who constantly carried war to the whole of Europe, involving civilians and being totally brutal, to win.

As yourself, or go and find out, who brokers every cease fire. Ask yourself, or go and find out, who breaks every cease fire.

The Israeli's fight campaigns against specific targets with specific goals. When they are finished, they stop and wait to see if the goal is met. That is what professional armies do. They notify all civilians exactly when and where they are going to be fighting and they do everything in their power to stop civilian casualties. During the last big offensive they were using what they call "door knockers", where they fired in very small calibre weapons to frighten the civilians away from targets then followed it up with full power weapons.

Now let's see what Hamas does. They make rockets. They sneak up to the Israeli border and they fire them at civilian targets. ALWAYS at civilian targets. Day and night, over and over and over and over and over.

Let me ask you a simple question.

What would you do? Live in fear?

if someone was throwing rocks at my family ,i should ignore them and not retaliate?
