I can hardly bear to think it might happen - Update!

Postby Osc » 10 Jan 2013, 20:57

It looks as if Miss Osc and her hubby have been successful in renting a house near us! Because nobody will lend them money to buy, they decided to rent out their own house and rent instead for a few years until the banks decide to lend money to people who are perfect candidates for a mortgage  Houses to rent in this area have many prospective renters but this time it looks as if they have been lucky. It's a bit beyond their original budget, but because SIL plans to work from home, part of the rent can be set against tax apparently. It's a gorgeous house, huge, probably bigger than they need in all honesty. But they wanted a 3 year lease whereby the landlord was only originally interested in one year (the departing tenants have been there 2½ years), however they emphasised their close links to the area, SIL's brother lives literally across the road, we live less than a ten minute walk away, and the agent seemed to take a liking to them. The owner lives in Mauritius. There are still a few things to be ironed out, but it's looking more than hopeful :D

This is the house..

So any spare vibes would be welcome!

Pronounced simply it would be "coon on ore". It rather boringly seems to mean "eastern bay" according to google :? (I'm not a fluent Irish speaker, too many years of having it forced down my throat when in school made me dislike it strongly). Actually Mr. Osc has delved deeper for a translation, and has come up with "golden harbour" which sounds much nicer ;)

Loads of vibes from me over the Med Osc. 8-)

And how utterly lovely to have your family so near to you. :D :D

In Spanish golden harbour is dorado puerto. :) :)

Not a huge one I don't think, we haven't been in the house yet. Apparently the trees and shrubs you can see in the garden photo have been removed. When they looked at it last Saturday it was a misty day, but SIL thinks there is some sight of the sea.

Okay, that's me even more jealous   I love a sea view, even the tiniest one would do me!

Any idea when they should find out if they have it?
