11 kilos

of soft fruit! That's what I've sorted this afternoon after picking from the allotment last night.

6 kilos of big green gooseberries (still two bushes left to pick from plus a dessert gooseberry bush)
2 kilos of raspberries (and it hasn't even made a dint in the raspberries growing on the canes)
1 kilo of redcurrants (the birds had most of them)
2 kilos of black currants (and I still have at least 3 times that amount in a big trug waiting to be stripped from the branches!)

Same here - I've got two very neglected shrubs in a pot that had some fruit, but the blackbirds had a field day with whatever fruit there was on there :D

That makes two of us.
When i was young we used to grow black currants and gooseberries. Also picked blackberries as we lived in the country and there were plent y bushes in the hedge rows. Stopped taking sugar in tea so my mother could make jam when it was rationed in the war.

I love raspberries, and most soft fruit in fact so I'm really jealous Debih. Gooseberry jam - mouth watering!

I think most of it will go into jam.

I'll make some redcurrant jelly and some raspberry and lime jam. I'll also make some gooseberry and elderflower jam and I'm going to find a recipe for gooseberry chutney.

With the black currants I'll make jam, jelly and have a go at making black currant cordial.

The raspberry canes are dripping in fruit - lots of Eton Mess and raspberry ripple ice cream I think.

I've come to a stand still now as I've run out of freezer bags!

I keep coming back from dog walks with stained purple finger tips - the bilberries are very ripe now and I can't resist them

I finished off the branches this morning - another 4 kilos of blackcurrants.

Back to the allotment on Sunday for more gooseberries and raspberries.
