Alton Towers - can I ask a favour of you all

Postby debih » 09 Jul 2014, 10:35

I promised the girls I would take them to Alton Towers during the summer holidays (we haven't been for years, although they have both been on a school trip - L earlier this year and S a couple of years ago) and that they could take a friend each. S's birthday is on 29 August so I thought we might go then.

I have just looked at the prices.    For 5 of us to go in, bearing in mind that I probably won't go on any rides, it's going to cost me £189.      They are all classed as adults now as they will be over 12 (although I might get away with L as being a child as she is so little).

I know that there are often 2 for 1 tickets around but I haven't seen any (probably because I haven't really been looking). Can I ask a massive favour and if anyone has any (I think Kellogs were doing something - I'm going to look in Sainsburys at their packets) or see's any could you grab them for me? I could do with 2 really so that I can get two of the kids in free.

Thanks.

Don't you shop or parents/inlaws shop at Tesco Debih? I'm sure Alton towers is included in their clubcard deals :)

I've just had a look at the Tesco website and it seems that £12.50 in vouchers will give you a day ticket

Thanks. I rarely shop at Tescos and don't have a club card. My mum and dad don't either (they don't drive and there isn't one near us).

My inlaws do sometimes - I'll have to ask them.

We don't tend to use Tesco's around as you have to drive past half a dozen other supermarkets to get to a Tesco's!

Edited to say - I do have a clubcard! Mick uses it for fuel sometimes. I have just rung their customer services to get them to send a new one out. I can't check my points balance til I get it. I have no idea how many points I have!

Just looked on Money Saving Expert and the ones on the Kellogs packets had to be used by the end of June.

Off to search some more!

I think they might still have them on the Goodfella's pizza "The Smiler"s box - I will go see if I can find any in Sainsburys. I hope they don't end up being as elusive as the Chubbysticks!!!!

With any luck you have a little fortune sitting there waiting :)

It's a b*gger not having one near isn't it; for all the standard stuff that costs the same anywhere it's worth getting the points. We're lucky to have the little one in the village now as well as the small one in town - we don't really go to the big one at all any more, that's a 10-mile round trip so not worth it.

Even with two free tickets the price for a day out for 5 of us will still be just over £95.

It's so expensive!!!!!!

Edited to say - the rob dogs!!!

I've just rung up about how to book online if you have 2 for 1 tickets and the answer is you can't - you have to pay when you get there.

There will be 5 of us going - I think L will get in as an under 12 but the other 3 won't so will be classed as adults.

If I booked for 4 adults and 1 child in advance the cost would be £180.00. If I had the two free tickets and was allowed to book online for 2 adults and 1 child and then take the 2 for 1 tickets with us as their entry tickets the price would be £95.85. But as you can only present the 2 for 1 tickets when you get there you have to pay the on the day prices which for 2 adults and 1 child would be £127.80.

I'm off to see how much Drayton Manor Park is - probably a simliar price!
