Not happy with cockroaches, we get them over here though  The council come out every few weeks and fumigate all the drains. The first time I saw one was in a hotel restaurant (staff) and the scuttled across the floor quite happily and no-one seemed that bothered

Bedbugs now - they also live for a long time. I kept one once, in the office in a little plastic jar. Think it lasted about 6 weeks before it became rattly.

You've triggered the memory Jo and probably the reason why I have this phobia! My Dad sent me to the fishing shop when I was about ten years old with an empty tobacco tin, some money and a note. I handed the tin and the note to the man behind the counter and watched in horror as he filled the tin with live maggots! Then I had to walk the half a mile home knowing what was in that tin. Then Dad put the tin in the fridge! I refused to eat anything from the fridge until that tin vanished.

Blame The Parents
