Too right Kaz, I'm afraid I've had to take a few things back to Morrisons - a big nuisance when it's in the next town

As for the weevils, nope, not safe - they don't crawl in, they arrive and hatch out in the bag (I think that's right), and then spread into any other flour nearby. In this case my chief suspect is a bag of Lidl's bread flour, which was the most recently opened bag. I've been buying it for ages, I think it's just bad luck. The flour's all on the top shelf of the larder unit.

I do keep virtually everything in containers, but because of bread-making, I have white and w/meal bread flour, plain and self-raising, all open - and have been looking for suitable containers for a while. I really want ones I can put the bag into, rather than empty it in - flour makes such a mess!
They've all fitted into the freezer bags so hopefully that will do for now.

Ewww will keep an eye on mine then :? Might look for some suitable containers when I'm out and about :)

I am disappointed about the veg, we've been delighted with Morrison's so far so I'm hoping it's just a blip :?

What a nuisance Di :? Lakeland do a storage box for flour - the reviews indicate that you can put a bag in them without having to pour it out.

Kaz, I've used Morrison's for fruit and veg when in Bude and found it a bit hit and miss :?

I'd have cut the bruised bit off the pepper and still used it ;) Skinflint me though :D Not good about the flour Di - we have several opened bags on a high up shelf in the cupboard as Jen likes to faff about with food so we have all manner of flour up there, can only once ever remember an insect infestation and that was many years ago at my mam's house  Plastic boxes sound the answer.

It's grey and dark here today - Tom has just come back from the farm (!) after being there since half seven this morning so he is knackered after his long evening last night. I think we will be popping out for Sunday lunch later when he's had a nap, Jen's at work again at 4 so it'll be just the two of us unless Amy turns up too

One week of work and then I (we) are off a week - can't get here fast enough! :D

Afternoon all, very changeable weather here, it was sunny earlier on but we have had a couple of torrential downpours as well. Michael Facetimed us earlier on to ask us to go and see him, then Miss Osc texted to say he was asleep so we will go in a while.

We moved the last of the stuff out of our building this morning, so it's all ready for the builder. Hopefully next week he will start preliminary work, the architects want him to examine the old shop front very carefully, draw up a plan on what he is going to do with it (probably total replacement as it is falling to bits) and also with the windows as the conservation officer on the council laid down conditions regarding the shop front and windows. So the architect wants all that sorted with the council before the build itself starts, so the builder can then adhere to his 15 week schedule as laid down in the contract. At least something is moving along a little bit.

No football tonight, thank goodness! Enjoy your day everyone :)

Gal I'm even more of a skinflint - it is going back and I want it replacing, and the spuds, or my money back! Don't worry about that! ;) :D Mick will run me up there tomorrow after work, I'd go today but it will be shut by the time he gets back from running Harry......

Jo there is a Lakeland in Cheltenham and I'm going tomorrow, so I might have a look 8-) :D

Osc that all sounds very exciting and promising about the building :D :D 8-) Hope you get to see Michael later :) xxxx

I am in bed. I am very ill and need all your sympathy.

I have tried getting up - in fact I have managed to have both a bath and a shower but I am unable to function properly so have come back to lie in a darkened room.

Please send sympathy.
