Spiders! I'm ok these days with anything spindly or smaller than a 10p piece (after doing some work on myself as at one time even teeny tiny ones had me in a sweat!) but anything hairy or big - just forget it! Becky handles the tarantulas (yuk) at college but can't bear the little spindly ones - now that is weird, even though she is my own daughter

Becks also has a real fear of clowns, which isn't at all funny!

My one big fear is cockroaches - they are the vilest most horribleness things on this planet.

Yes, they are vile, but they are tough little baskets.

If they have their heads cut off they can live for days - until they die of starvation, and they are virtually
immune to atomic radiation, so the would probably be the sole survivors on this planet in the event of a
world-wide atomic war.

Oh Fugi those maggot stories are horrendous. The thought of them plopping down your chimney will give me nightmares I am sure.

I have a vomit phobia, so I won't go into detail. Not keen on any vomit, but can deal with Luke, children, but what brings it on the most is drunk people. I am terrified of drunk people in case they are sick. We have left restaurants, pubs, I have moved seats at concerts. I have learnt now how best to cope. I always sit so I can't see what it going on around me, I need to face a wall or a window. I will never, ever go into any town at night. I have a whole host of coping mechanisms, but sometimes, like the night of Tim's 50th birthday meal it ruins things.

Small flying things - moths, bats and butterflies (although I'm not as bad with the butterflies as I am with the bats and moths.

A couple of years ago when I went on the first Santa Safari with school I was really brave and went into the bat cave. There were a few bats flying around but it wasn't too bad.

Then the keeper came in and announced that it was bat feeding time so I thought I would get out of the way and stand against a wall. It was only one the horrible flying things came swooping out either side of my head that I realised I had stood right between two bat hole things. I could feel their horrible little wings almost flapping against my head.

I have avoided the bat cave ever since.

Same here MM. When we went to Donna's graduation, a group came and sat next to me and one of the men stunk of booze. I said to Tom I'd have to move and he was trying to make me stay, in the end I got up and moved seats (the ceremony hadn't started at this point) and T had to follow me. I could not have stayed there! I don't use public transport in case I encounter anyone drunk or looking grey....

Not a single creature anyway, but a whole big mass of maggots/cockroaches would give me the heebiejeebies.

This thread's reminded me about when I was at school and my best friend asked me to go into the fishing shop with her on the way home to pick up some bait for her Dad - it turned out to be a pint of maggots
