400,000

A number that flew by with hardly a comment.

It is the increase in the population of the UK for LAST YEAR!

It's a new Bristol, plus some.

Half of them are due to the birth rate v death rate.

The other half migrated here.

It is the largest increase in the EU and exceeds that of the next four most populous countries.

The ONS says the UK population has increased by about five million since 2001, yet the latest is nearly half a million in one year!

If the projections are anywhere near true the increase for this year will be greater.

The birth rate is a lot higher in the immigrant population - schools are already stretched to the limit and if another few years will burst at the seams :?

We are full up!!! I am so far from being racially prejudiced, I truly do not care what colour or creed people are, but we are bursting at the seams in this crowded little island :(

No wonder our NHS is crumbling, our schools neglect the English children having to concentrate on the influx of foreign youngsters.
This country is sinking in a quicksand, .the indigenous are paying for the EU folly and the last government opening the floodgates in spite creating an impossible situation regarding benefits,

housing , hospitals,schools,
surgeries and living standards.
I feel desperately sorry for those who risk life and limb to get to what is to them a land of milk and honey,
And for those in the grip of gang masters and criminals.
This country is crumbling under the strain and we can do nothing other than watch it meet its demise.

They will never admit it but the true size of the UK population is over 70M.

Add it up.

60M gives us a 26M work force, men and women, working or not.

We have 29 Million in work, nearly 30m.

We have approximately 7 million "not contributing to the economy".

Which, to my admittedly poor maths makes a working population of nearly 37m. Or put another way, 11m more than we should be able to support with a population of 60m.

divide 60 by 26 and you get 2.3 population per workforce member. On average.

That means, on average, we need an additional 25.3 m people to create our 37 million workforce. That .3 is significant at 300,000 people.

Which gives us a population of 85.3 million people. If we are to believe the employment and "not contributing to the economy" figures stated...

Wonder why the UK services are falling apart? Why the benefits are at an all time gross high? It's not hard to work out where the lie is. Even if the extra 11m were averaging 1 workforce person per population the population of the UK would be 71m. But we all know that those who come over to work are not predominantly single.

Anyone voting for Farage in the next general election?

When I finally get into the Apartment and some time I'm going to send a rather stinging mail to the party chairman and a few others. Mailing Cameron is a waste of time, nobody ever gets past the guards on his time...

I e-mailed my MP about this, but it is not only population.

I also sent him a link to this report by Cambridge academics. By 2030 the UK will need a third more arable land for food production simply to stay as we are today - 7 million hectares. We currently import over 40% of our food, if we do nothing that will grow to well over 50%. We are already about as efficient in farming methods as we can be and we cannot "build" more land, so what do we do: starve?

Excellent posts Suff and Frank, today we learn that all those poor lads cleaning cars the length and breadth of Britain are controlled by gang masters average wage £5.00 a week. The poor girls working in massage parlours and on the streets. I saw one in tears on a street corner weeping in London , went to see whether I could help when my daughter pulled me back as her minder was standing a few feet away looking threatening. One of the thousands of young women thinking they are coming here to work as domestics, and male workers like those on Benefit St who are living in misery and are virtually penniless who possibly have to resort to theft.
Women and teenagers Raped drugged threatened by the B'''''''rds who got them here and the police "do nothing "
Yes I will vote for Farage whatever his outcome. It might prove to be a wake up call for the lying Stupid Crooks who dominate every party paedophiles and fraudsters included

It makes me feel so sad and angry that this country is going downhill so fast.

It's all due to the wretched politicians who get into power and don't care a damn about
the harm they are doing to this country, or what the people they are supposed to be
representing want, as long as they can feather their own nests and continue their life
of debauchery.

My faith in democracy is fading fast. We might do better with a dictator - we certainly
couldn't do worse.

The point is Aggers they are not sitting in the same world, we can see that when they gather in the Commons. They are rabble. The latest news is that a Conservative Paedophile has been exposed, Westminster is full of trash, there are exceptions to the rule, but not many.!! I applauded Cameron's move to be heard in Brussels that isolated him, and the disgusting wrath of that waste of space Miliband shows just what kind of individuals are dominating our country.

As responsibility is diluted and "careerism" takes over, the principles of democracy die.

Those principles are that the wishes of the many are represented in forum by the few representatives of the many.

The moment an MP is allowed to state that s/he will "vote his/her conscience" and not the wished of the voters; it is a long slippery slope down to the subversion of democracy.

Have you noticed that every time they quietly remove fundamental rights from us, they also very loudly proclaim that they are "giving" us rights we never asked for.....

The wonder is how many people fall for it....
