The Capri

It's our normal restaurant, we're always well looked after and always take friends there :D

Joao, the owner, speaks about 2 words of English, but all the staff speak very good English, French and at least one other language  :D

Fabio, Joao's son, told us that his father was in hospital, having a small operation, so he was in charge :D

He looked after us personally last night, and when I asked just how the tuna was cooked, as I've tried and just can't do it like they do, invited me into the kitchen to see how - but when it was a bit quieter

Riccardo came over and shook our hands, Rudolph smiled and waved (he's new, only there for the summer hols) and even Nuno said hello.

The wine jug was full to the brim   , the meal was lovely, the dessert really scrummy and then Riccardo poured out the brandy to go with the coffee - about half a bottle went into our glasses

And, as always, we were offered the bottle again when we paid. I just had to decline - unheard of  - and Fabio told us the wine was on the house and all the waiters gave me a kiss and shook Grumpy's hand as we left.

We staggered home..................

Sounds perfect Ton :D
It is a lovely place, one of those you just have to visit once to know you'd be happy to go again and again :D

I've been in all sorts of restaurant kitchens Ton - sometimes 'kitchen' is stretching it a bit ;)
When I went to Zante on my own for a week, I spent several evenings chatting to the staff/chefs in a couple of restaurants and they were always more than happy to show me what/how/where they cooked :)
