Some vibes please

Postby miasmum » 20 Jun 2014, 14:02

My friend has a lovely little dog, Tino, he is a Bolognese. He has been off colour with all sorts of odd symptoms, unsteadiness, shaking, staring into space, unable to scratch his ear with his back leg and no longer able to cock his leg to wee, or stand at his food bowl to eat.

Chrisi's vet has referred Tino to a different vet and I went with them today. They want to do an MRI but it was not available until next Friday and Tino has deteriorated so much in the last week, they said they would rather do a CT scan and see what that shows. We had to take him to another surgery and they will CT him today.

He is a lovely, friendly, usually bonkers little chap, please keep everything crossed for him

Thank you, he is home and he ate his dinner which is good. They have an appointment to go back for the results of the CT scan on Weds, but he will ring them if anything comes to light sooner. He has anti-inflammatories and pain killers

He said it could be a disc problem or it could be something neurological

he looks like that or as the nurse in the vets said "he looks like a cloud on legs"

Thank you. He is so lovely. They have two of them, Tino and Santo, they look identical. I walk in the door and say hello boys, and I can pick Tino out immediately. He is the one squealing, bouncing, and trying to jump into my arms. He loves his Aunty Shell

Completely different thing obviously, but that was what was so scary with Minnie, literally 100% healthy/bouncy/swimming/full of life to virtually dead within 12 hours, you feel so helpless but so determined to do all you possibly can x

Poor little dog. It's very worrying and sounds horribly like what my son and daughter-in-law are going through at the moment with their little 3 year old Shih Tzu. He's to have X-rays on Tuesday with the possibility of an MRI depending on what the X-ray shows or fails to show.

I hope they get good news on Wednesday about little Tino.

Thank you all and I hope your son's little dog pulls through ok Paddy.

Apparently Tino ate his breakfast this morning and ran out the garden, so hopefully the meds are helping him.

Hopefully as the vets are open Saturday, no news is good news and they haven't spotted anything too worrying on the CT scan
