Looks like we're in for another dry day 8-)

Off to visit mother this morning, if all's well we'll take her out for coffee again. Afterwards its the usual chores, pay her papers, do the banking, oh and Ed's got to pop back to the dentist for a quick fix..........sooooo pleased it isn't me

Also need to stop at the shops for more salad stuff, it's all we really fancy eating in this weather.

Hope you all have a good day

Ha ha - I'm home again. Not done much "work" yet but so far have hung one load of washing out, put another load on, stripped the bed and am just emailing the solicitor with photos of the stupid cow next door parked blocking our access once again.

We never knew we had a free legal service as part of our house insurance. She'll rue the down that we found out - cow face that she is. :D :D

Morning all, it's gorgeous here again. I went for a walk on the pier around 8.30, it was fantastic, then I walked up to get the paper on the way back and by the time I came out of the shop, fog had descended  :? But it has burned off now and back to general gorgeousness. Mr. Osc is cutting the grass, I want to finish unpacking from our weekend and do some general tidying up and hope to spend some time in the sunshine this afternoon. Dancing tonight :D :D Have a good day everyone :)

Oh.............and my ticker is scaring me now :o :o :o

Hi all - sorry as usual not had a minute to get online - when I've been stuck in the shop (and a smelly one at that, details to follow!) in gorgeous weather for three days I want to sit in the garden in the evening with a book and/or a glass of wine ;)

So - Saturday when I went to work the carpet was wet - saturated - in one area. Turns out the flat above us drain had blocked and backed up, overflowing eventually and permeating through the wall and floor into our shop  It wasn't toilet drains thankfully but it was from the washing machine and the bath and the shower, and the sink....the smell has been horrendous!! Luckily it was the weekend so it wasn't until Monday that the force of The Smell hit  :? My bosses had been in and got most of the water sucked up with one of those machines, but of course the floor was still wet....we've gone through a whole bottle of Febreze and a can of neutradol this week and despite being on a busy street with cars and buses constantly passing, we've had to have the door wide open all day to aerate the place. It's been.....challenging to say the least!! Over now (for me) this week until Saturday

It's a busy week ahead as this time next Wednesday Jen will be mid show with her fashion collection  8-) The last 6 months have been a whirl of design drawings, fabric swatches, pattern cutting, toiles.....and now it is almost here :D My downstairs might no longer look like a design studio :D

 Blimey I hope the damp and smell are gone by Saturday - what a palaver!!!

Loads and loads of luck to Jen with the show, she is a very talented young lady, and I hope some opportunities come her way as a result, as she deserves them 8-) :)

Yuckity-yuck Gal, it's a horrible smell isn't it :(

Can I be nosy please? I'm often told I'm not nosy enough, I don't ask questions of people because I don't like to intrude
But you've said once or twice that you don't know people's history on here - well, I don't know yours :D
You've mentioned I think that your daughter Jen only works part time, and I think I've seen on fb something about a fashion show once before, but had/have no idea that she designs/ makes(?) clothes?
So what's it all about please? :)

Nosey all you like Di - I'm more than happy to bore you with it all ;)

Since she was 15 she has known she wanted to be a fashion designer, she did well academically at school (clearly her father's daughter ;) ) but didn't want to follow academia, she gets her creative side from me I reckon ;) So she went to college for two years and did a BTech in Art and Design and from there went to Northumbria Uni for four years to get her degree in Fashion Design. She qualified with a First :D

But since spending 6 months interning in Berlin, hoping to further her CV, nothing is happening career wise for her. She landed a bar job in a posh hotel in the city centre but it's zero hours contract and the pay is poor. Suits her atm though until something else happens. She gets down occasionally but always has the hope that she will land that longed for job - the show I am droning on about is the second the city has staged, last year it was held in October in a car park (!!) but went down very well and she had a ball taking part in it, although then she showed her Uni final year collection, this time she has created a new collection so let's hope the cherry picked invitees spot her and snap her up :D :D All the designers get 6 free tickets so we are there supporting her ;)

Oh and Di - thanks for being nosey :)

Aw thanks Kaz - I think so but then I am biassed ;)

Meant to add, the huge upside to all the water shenanigans is that FINALLY our shop is to have a facelift!!! :D :D Already we have a new carpet ordered and a date for fitting (next week!) and new furniture is on order too :D :D :D
