I agree completely meriad, I too love 'proper' winter days, cold and bright. We've barely had any decent daylight for weeks, it really is depressing. I do always try to see the positive, but there doesn't seem to be anything positive about this never-ending gloom and damp.

I feel the same too. Everything just looks grubby at the moment.

Ah, but there is half the problem Weka, we aren't having a winter.... It's grey, damp with drizzle in the air (which does make a change from the rain admittedly ) and just all in all not very nice out there. Temperatures are about 10 or so degrees so hats and scarfs and gloves are just not needed. Now if it was a nice cold crispy day out there with blue skies then that would be a different matter but in all honesty - I am sick and tired of the grey grey nothingness we've had for far too long now. Roll on spring where at least the blooms will add some colour

Ahh..... Welcome to my world then. This is what we get from may to September. Daytime temps 5-10 degrees, rain,, or almost raining, grey, damp, (we have quite high humidity here) and windy, too windy for an umbrella.

But a sunny winters day is lovely.

So, things to do in this weather is....

Play raindrop races down the windows
Go for a walk in the fog, it's always fun when you can't see where your going
A bush walk on a drizzly day is nice too, not sure if your bush is dense enough to keep the rain out though...
Sit in a window of a cafe, sipping a flat white, and watch everyone walking past huddled under their umbrellas
Dig the garden over, it really easy after rain, and no weeds will grow for awhile, so plenty of time after that to plan what to plant, and hard work in drizzle is quite refreshing

But my fav, requires a child to be socially acceptable.... put your waterproof boots on, (gumboots in my world) and find every puddle you can and have a good old splash around. Get soaking wet, and come home for a hot bath

Go on, get outdoors, it's only a bit of water I've got lots more ideas I you want them
